So I’m going to try and make this site a new theme, kinda sticking to the same style as my new YouTube background (Which if you haven’t already seen you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/thebreadster/). And I’m also going to clear out all those annoying spam accounts on the forums. RECAPTCHA! Y U NO WORK!!??!!??!?!?/1//!?!?/1
Nuff said.
When I said that I was kidding. My Alienware M11x got back from repairs the other day. In fact, I’m blogging from it right now! It’s a nice little laptop (though a pretty big disappointment in the gaming department compared to other ones) and is great for work on the go. But to be honest I’m tempted to sell it. Either sell it or swap it.
Whatever, it’ll do for now. Probably the coolest thing about it is the fact that it has FLASHY LIGHTS!
After months of procrastination, I’ve nearly finished the server. I just have to work out what you get for donating to the server and then do the VIP class according to that, then I have to sort out the whitelist registration page. So hopefully by tomorrow I can launch it (wishful thinking) but at the latest it’ll go public next weekend. I also have to make a new map.
Working on the forums and minecraft server permissions :3
And better than ever!
So the stuff arrived today and I ripped open the packaging to make sure it was all there, and it was. So I decided instead of getting my PC shipped away to Victoria, I decided I’d do a bit of DIY hardware stuff. And it worked. I hooked up the power supply and the new graphics card (mind you it was a tight fit, it nearly cut into the hard drive bay :O) and tried turning it on but it didn’t work! Then I realised my fancy new power board wasn’t turned on (a rookie mistake), so I turned it on and fired up my PC and it’s working well now! I tested out the new graphics card by playing through the intro of Skyrim and it did really well. Alot better than my old card at least. For anyone out there looking for a nice, fairly cheap card (that should be a guaranteed (if not tight) fit for most cases) then go for the ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II TOP.
So if you follow me on twitter then you’ve definitely heard this already, so you might as well stop reading this.
For those of you who don’t follow me however, here’s the latest bit of news about me.
So I just got back from holiday in Europe (which was awesome btw) and started up my PC for a bit of a chat on skype. Then suddenly out of the blue, it stops. It wasn’t a crash, it stopped completely without warning or even a frozen screen. I try to turn it on, but of course that doesn’t work. So I try plugging it into a different power point, that didn’t work either. Obviously it was an issue with the hardware as it just wasn’t turning on at all. The first thing that I thought was “Oh no, I hope my hard drive wasn’t wiped, I had like 200gb of games on there” and hopefully it isn’t. The second thing I thought was “I bet the power supply broke”. If I knew more about hardware I’d crack open the PSU and see if it is, but as I’m not, I didn’t. So tomorrow I’m going to find the warranty information and take the PC back to Harris Technology (where I bought it from) and hopefully they can see what’s wrong with it. If it is indeed the power supply, then that’s no problem at all because I just recently ordered a new one because I needed MOAR POWA for the graphics card I ordered (which hopefully fits in the case). Speaking of that order, here’s what I ordered:
- ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II TOP 1GB (Which is like the super-mega overclocked version of the 560Ti
- CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus 700W (The new power supply)
- ASUS VE248H 24-inch Widescreen LED Monitor (Full HD
)
- Razer Imperator 4G Battlefield 3 Edition (Cause it’s a cool looking mouse)
- Microsoft LifeCam Cinema (That means more stopmotions!)
- HauppaugeTV MiniStick-HD Digital TV Tuner
- Huntkey Power Surge Protector Black – 8 Outlets
- HDMI v1.3 Male to Mini HDMI Male Cable 1.8m
If you’re in Australia and need some good PC parts, then I’d recommend looking on http://www.pccasegear.com/
So yeah. When that stuff arrives, I’ll fix up my PC (hopefully) and get gaming again!
Well the protest against SOPA/PIPA yesterday went quite well. Senators’ websites went down because of the amount of requests they had to oppose the bill!
But the fight isn’t over. You guys need to get another 6 senators to oppose the bill. 41 senators are needed to vote against SOPA but there are only 35 publicly opposing it. I think we can do it. If you’re in america, call your senator and tell them to vote against SOPA. If you’re like me and are in Australia, then sign a petition!
